    Hi ladies,
I had my band at the end of July last year, I started at 18st 12lb, at Christmas last year I had only lost 3 stone so that was after 5 months and that included the weight I had lost pre op on the liver shrinkage diet so you are both doing really well, since Christmas I have lost a further 4 1/2 stone because around Feb I got to my sweet spot and since then the weight loss has been fantastic, I am now a size 12/14 and don’t want to lose anymore, keep going to your follow up appointments every 4 weeks and it will happen for you when you reach the right adjustment.

    Hi,

Can you please help, I had the gastric band fitted 8th march this year. Starting weight was 17 1/2 stone now I’m 15st 5. But I keep reading in all the success stories that most people have lost 3 – 3 1/2 stone by now.

My band is filled to 5.8 ml at the moment & I’m genuinely eating quite healthily bare the odd slip up over the months. Exercising & eating smaller portions.

Can you suggest anything that will kick start the weigh loss?

I don’t want to have paid £5000 for the operation & it not to have worked

    Thanks

    Nics x

    Hi Nics,

I had my band done nearly a year ago and it took me 6 months to lose the first three stone so please do not worry too much, it has only been during the last 6 months that my weight loss has accelerated due to hitting the sweet spot and I have now lost seven and a half stone so you are doing better than I was at your stage.

Everyone deserves a chance to celebrate success and if I can help with a lift to make that happen then it’s a given, but thanks Doodah.

Can you get to Worthing Mandy, I could meet you there and travel together in my car, you wouldn’t need to pay for fuel

I use slimfast shakes for added protein but they do add calories too, I’d be interested to find out about protein powder too.

I remember my first flight where I could actually put the food tray down, it is so liberating, flying to Turkey in 3 weeks and can’t wait to be able to walk down the aisle of the plane normally instead of shuffling down sideways because thats the only way I fit!!

    Hi Luke,
What an inspiration you are to everyone, you were fantastic on last nights programme and your weight loss is very encouraging. I would never have been brave enough to be filmed you should be very proud of yourself.

    Hi Sammy,

Try increasing your protein at each meal it keeps you satisfied longer because it takes longer to digest and until you get more restriction it may be your lifeline.
