Very true all the way!! Thanks
Yes I have to remember I am studying and things have changed a lot since three years ago when I was last studying! I was 22 stone and smoked 20 fags a day! Now I have stopped smoking two and a half years ago and 7stone lighter! Have to go easy on myself!!
I am doing my MSc in Infection Prevention and Control at UCL london university! No pressure! I am still working full time as a senior clinical Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control at the Royal Free Hospital! I specialise in Renal Dialysis and Transplant patient services and Liver transplant patients! A very big area to cover as I have six dialysis units in the north of london as well as four wards at the hospital to cover as well as outpatients! I advice and support them with managing and preventing infections for patients!! When the do not wash their hands right I appear from no where and tell them off!! As well as being a mum to a 18 year old who starts Uni in September doing her nursing! A step mum to two boys 17 and 30 yrs old and a fiancé! I have made him put on weight as I cook very well and give large portions!! We travel an average of four hours a day going and coming home from home to work!! Not good! So only have two hours in the evening during the week to chill but I do my Uni work then sleep and weekends I am tried but have to do house work reading studying and be a human being! As well as a bypass patient!!!
That’s me!! So it’s long! But that’s why I find it hard some times!!
Lots of love Janice
Thank you so much for your support and yes I thought to myself it’s so easy for me not to say anything but that’s what we are all here for!! To support each other when we need it and not after the problem has gone!
It’s been difficult as I am just binging on digestive biscuits and chocolate as I have the time of the month as well as I am writing my essay for my MSc! My clothes are getting tighter!
But yes you are right I have lost 7 stone do not weigh 22 stone or wear a size 28 any more so stop panicking!
I will keep a diary with moods good idea did it before so will do it again!
I will keep in touch thanks xxxx
Hi all I have been having a nightmare as it was the time of the month and I just wanted to eat everything and I did! I have just been grazing! I have put on 4 lbs of the 8 that I lost so not happy but know I have to turn it around and start again quickly!
Thank you everyone!
You guys have helped me be strong! Feel good and yes the Harrow group are great xxxx
Oh yes and I have more energy as I have been resting and taking my vitamins everyday! What a differences!
Hi everyone hope you all are ok?
I am ok still have kept going and have lost the 8lbs of the 9lbs I had put on! So happy with that and I know that I can do it! I went along to the support group last week and it was lovely to meet Stacey and many other patients who have had my surgery, other types of weightloss surgery and patients who are still deciding if they should have it and if so what type! A very mixed bag! But what was lovely is everyone was going through what I was going through and I no longer felt alone and had more understanding that this is a natural and difficult journey us Barriatric patients will have as we have to fight the demons in our heads but we now have the right TOOL thanks to the surgery to help us fight back!
Thank you for the support and keep in touch xxx
Thanks Doodah, Lesley and Kimbley! It’s means so much and you are there for me and me for you! Thanks Doodah for saying I am a valued member!
I have been exhausted and I mean exhausted this weekend! I am so glad I was off and I have today and tomorrow off work! Saturday and Sunday I slept each day during the day a total of five extra hours and still slept through the night that’s when I knew that there was something wrong! I was burnt out and not right! I got my bloods done last week and today got results and my iron, ferritin and Vit D are border line low! I have been not great at taking my multi bits but since last week and sticking to the healthy eating I have been taking them daily!
Eating I have not had any cakes, biscuits, sweets or rubbish since Thursday! Feel great and have lost 5 lbs!!!!
Yes Doodah your are so right it’s hard it’s a roller coaster and it’s always a learning curve!
For once in my life I now have to take control and I know it’s going to be hard but I have a goal and it’s only me that’s going to get me there! But wants nice this time I have you all for support! You all know what I am going through and do not judge which is great and what we all need!
Thanks for being there for me and it’s making me stronger everyday when I see you all have replied to my post! We are in it together!
Defiermum thank you so much!
You sound very much like me! It’s difficult when you are doing new things and also we are tired! Comfort food takes over!
I am going back to the gym today! Not looking forward to it but know it has to be done! I think that’s the main way forward now!!
Please do keep in touch and thanks again!
Oh thank you Doodah that brought a tear to my eye! Very emotional as I feel lost with it all! I have been sticking to the eating plan by Nicole the nutritionist! Day two feel good today! Yesterday was day one and I felt awful I think I was have withdrawal symptoms from the sugar! Still get dumping with some sugar! My main problem is my portions are getting bigger and I am having to eat often! But it’s all carbs! I have changed jobs and this one is more challenging and I am now doing my MSc so lots changed! I need strength and faith to get through this as I really do not want to go back! Thank you all for your support means loads xxx
Thank you Doodah you are always right! I have missed your wise words! Well I weighed myself today after two weeks! I was actually scared too! And I remember being told not to weigh my self all the time! Which I had been on a daily basis! And guess what!? I have lost the extra 5lbs I had put on!!!! Thank god!! So that has given me a great push!
I was thinking of doing the milk duet again for one week only to see if that kick stats me again! I will hold off until I am stuck again!
