Wow Ms Ellie that is an amazing weight loss – well done . Can’t wait to meet you on 6th Dec as I was too shy to say hello to many people at the tea party …… just hope my nerves don’t get the better of me then too ! Keep on losing and getting happier and healthier 🙂 xxx
Good Luck Helen
I had my op on 5th Nov last year and I’d had to wait 17 months from my original referral but things seemed to have improved a lot since then with someone I know recently going through the whole process in a very short time. Hope all goes well for you xxx
Ellie – fantastic to see you back and raring to go down the losing road . Thought about you lots over the last few days and hoped all was going well. Great to hear you are feeling so good – long may it continue
Thanks all – It does feel great and your support on here has helped me along the way and will continue to keep me on the straight and narrow ….. if I can get there then you all can – We’ll show all those people who’ve made our lives miserable over the years 🙂 xxxxxxx
I am soooooo excited – for the first time in my adult life (and for a long time before that too ) I am now officially no longer overweight. I weighed myself on the scales at work which I have been using since before my op and my BMI is now down to 24.5. I was leaping up and down like a mad woman when I went from obese to overweight so this is amazing ……… I never thought the day would ever come and I will never be able to thank Guy and the team enough for helping me get there .
Brilliant news – will have fingers crossed that it all goes to plan. I got quite paranoid before my op as I was convinced something would happen to cause it to be cancelled but luckily nothing did xxx
Good Luck Ellie – can’t wait to hear your op is over and you are up and taking up residence on the losers bench ……. Thinking lots of positive thoughts for you xxx
Glad your tum seems to be settling down now Ellie. I had the trots on the milk diet for a couple of days then stopped going completely but thankfully I was only on it for a week. Good luck with the op – not long now xxxxx
Good Luck Ms Ellie and Petal when your op days get here . I could never find the sugar free Crusha but did make a lot of iced coffees with my milk and also made milk jellies …. I have to admit I am now definitely off drinking milk ! xx
Well done – it is fantastic to be overweight isn’t it !!! Everyone at work thought I was mad getting so excited when that happened but after years of being morbidly obese then obese it was a whole new experience. Keep up the good work xx
How fantastic – it is so good to feel ‘ normal ‘ after so many years . I’m actually looking forward to going to a theme park as I avoided them , always pretending I didn’t like the rides , incase I couldn’t fit in the seats xxx
Well done with the fantastic weight loss 🙂 I know where you are coming from not wanting to spend much on clothes as the sizes go down. I’ve got loads of stuff from Sainsbury’s – it’s cheap to start with but the sales and days when they have 25% off are great .
Looking forward to meeting you , with or without mouse ears on Saturday !!
Well done Phoenix. So glad that you have joined the merry throng of losers on here.
Good luck and take it easy and look forward to a healthy, happy and slim future
Wow Carol, the website is fantastic and I will definitely be getting the book . Your photo is lovely and you are a true inspiration to us all
Hope to meet you on 14th at the tea party
I’ve never had a problem telling people about my op and mostly everyone has been supportive.
I work as a Practice Nurse and my colleagues all knew (it is also my own GPs surgery so I was referred from there ) and they were worried what to tell the regular patients who would notice I wasn’t there so I told them to go ahead and tell them all.
I’ve had lots of very positive comments and there is now quite a list of patients who want to go on the list for WLS too ! I think a lot of them appreciate seeing a health professional who has been unable to achieve a healthy weight by the normal ‘eat less / exercise more’ methods.
I have had the occasion ‘easy way out’ remark but I make it quite clear that it is no easy option and after having a weight problem for 45 years it was hardly a spur of the moment decision.
A few patients who I hadn’t seen since before my op did voice their concerns that I might be ill having lost so much weight in a short time so I have been more than happy to put their minds at rest by telling them the real reason :gossip:
