Hi, i was one of the unlucky ones to have my surgery cancelled at St Richards, but was quickly recalled and had op on Monday 13th Feb and came home yesterday. Any doubts or fears that i may have had were soon put to rest as soon as i entered the Chichester Suite. I have wracked my brains for something negative to say about my experiance, but no chance all the staff are true STARs kind, careing, thoughtful and down right funny, which played a big part in my speedy recovery. My surgeon Chris Pring and his team were fantastic from start to finish. If anyone out there is having any doubts about where to have there surgery, take my word for it, you just can’t go wrong by going to Chichester.

Im home happy, healthy and smileing.

Hi Liz and welcome to the ever expanding losers bench!

I too had my surgery at Chichester 3.5 years ago and was made to feel safe, secure and (most importantly of all) valued by every single member of the team there. I was 26+ stone but they made me feel ‘normal’. Everyone was so kind and helpful I almost didn’t want to leave lol! But, despite having an open bypass (10cm scar) and my gallbladder removed, I was home after 3 nights! Like you say, you just can’t fault them.

I’m looking forward to coming along with you on your journey to better health, happiness and confidence.

Burping is my best friend especially after food. I find if I don’t or can’t burp then there’s trouble ahead! I.e. food stuck and only one way it will go – up. That’s happened about 8 times in just over a year but my god, I do need that burp for reassurance. lol

Have you had any involuntary burps?! I had one on the phone to an IT specialist. As I work from home, I blamed the dogs haha! I bet he knew it wasn’t them though. It really made me laugh which was probably another give away ;-))

I’ve not really given it much thought but having now sat and taken notice the answer is yes. I’m forever burping and I’m not sure I’d be able to stop it happening. Mind you, I think I was the same pre op as well so not sure if that’s any help. lol
