    Hi guys

    just a little reminder that, if you would like to come along to the South Coast Support Group, it is a new venue (see previous post)

    You will be made very welcome by a wonderful group of people. If you are struggling to get back on track after the festivities, just pop in and say hello. When the going gets tough, support is vital in my humble opinion!

    Happy New Year to you all and hope to see many of you next week!

    Eeeek! Getting excited about the new venue. Hope you will all like it.

    I went along last week to have a look and it is superb. Huge thanks to everyone involved in helping me put it together (you know who you are!)

    There is a Costa in the main entrance – thank goodness lol! Let’s hope the weather doesn’t make it difficult for those of you who have a fair way to come.

    Hi Doodah
    I’d love to come but a fair distance from Crawley. Definitely won’t get to the Jan one…maybe next month.
    Hope you are well. I’m doing really well and almost 3 stone off now! So happy.

    Hi Boo,

    There is a Streamline group in Harrow which is a bit closer for you I think. Everyone there is gorgeous and supportive just like on the forum. If it motivates you, I travel to Harrow every other month from Manchester, I believe so strongly in the benefits of doing so that the trip is worth it to me. I did try attending a different group, not Streamline people, and found it not so good i.e bitchy and critical. Not saying there aren’t good support groups out there but I urge everyone to choose their support network carefully xx

    It is a fair distance but like Chris said, there is always the one in Harrow. the people there are lovely. Before I started the Portsmouth group, I too used to travel up to Harrow every month from Southampton! It was so important to me. Then I thought ‘why not start one down here on the South Coast?’ – so I did. Maybe that’s something you could think about doing?

    Well done – three stones off already. I hope you are proud of yourself 😉

    Of course I remember you!

    We would love to see (half of) you down here on the South Coast haha! Would be great to put a name to the face is you see what i mean. People change so much that we forget they might look entirely different both in body and face.

    Pop along any time – they are a fab group of people who will make you very, very welcome 😉

    Hi all you lovely people, I would have loved to come along to the meeting, but not very well at the moment.
    I have had a lot of pain going on for a while now and it got to much i went to my GP who was very good and
    did an examination and decided to send me straight to A & E I was admitted and have been on drips and pain
    relief, had CT scans and they have looked after me very well, I have an appointment to see Mr C Pring on the
    5th Feb when he is back from his holiday,
    so I do look forward to that, the consultant I had at my local hospital knows shaw somers and chris pring and
    also does bariatric surgery, so that was very nice to know.
    I am very tired and look forward to feeling a lot better.
    lots of love to all

    Hello my lovelies. I have been thinking about how to move forward with the (much bigger) group.
    It was agreed that, when many members are present, the following guidelines should apply. Most apply even if there are only a few members present. We hope you will agree that they are constructive.
    Last week’s group was very different but normal service will be resumed! The idea is that the experts will come along at the beginning for no more than half an hour, then it will be business as usual.
    If there is anything you wish to add, please let us know. The information in this post will also be posted in the Files section.
    South Coast Support Group rules/guidelines
    * What is said in group, stays in group, including on the Facebook page.
    * We do not discuss members who are not present unless we have been
    given permission to do so.
    * No chatting or interrupting when someone else is speaking.
    * No one is obliged to talk.
    * No clinical advice is to be given or taken by any group member
    * Be kind to everyone, including yourself.
    * Be supportive
    * Listen
    * No judgement
    * Have fun and make new friends!

    Doodah x

    ps Once you have visited the new group, you can be added to the Facebook private group. We need to physically meet you for matters of confidentiality as, in a previous group, someone actually turned out to be a journalist!

    Our first meeting at the new venue was fabulous. It’s a nice, spacious and bright room with very comfortable chairs and sofas. There is also a loo about 10m along a corridor. It is all fully accessible and there is plenty of disabled parking.

    We had visits from Mr Nick Carter, one of the Streamline surgeons, and Alison Sutton, the Bariatric Nurse Specialist. We are looking to make ‘guest’ appearances a regular feature of the group.

    So, if you would like to come along, just drop me text or email, and I will look out for you! Once you have attended the group, you can then be added to the private Facebook Group.

    Hi Chris
    So sorry for late reply! I haven’t been on here for a couple of weeks. Days and weeks just fly and all I seem to do is work lately! Thank you for that…how would I find out the dates of the Harrow meetings?
    Boo xx
