Hi I am in a really strange place and wonder whether anyone else has come across this. I had a gastric bypass September 2011. Basically I started being sick just about every time I tried to eat, had a lot of pain and was bringing up blood. Anyway a new (to me) bariatric surgeon at a different hospital carried out an endoscopy to try to help resolve my problems which meant I was living on protein drinks and milk, and he discovered I actually do not have a stomach pouch. I don’t understand how this could have happened or what it means to me. It’s very demoralising and depressing if I am honest.

    Hi Adhara and welcome

Firstly, may I ask with whom and where you had your surgery? I think it is vital that you contact your original team to make them aware of your situation. You need professional bariatric advice.

No wonder you are feeling low and depressed you poor thing. We can all offer you support, help and empathy but we are in no way a suitable alternative for proper medical help.

I so hope you get the help you need. If you are a Streamline patient, I can guarantee that you will be listened to. Please kepe in touch and tell us how things are going.

    Love Doodah x
