    Hi everyone!

Here’s your better late than never reminder that the next Southampton WLSinfo support group meeting is this Saturday, 15th August at Postern Court from 10.30am – 1pm. Everyone from any weightloss surgery type is welcome, both pre and post op, even those who had it done for other medical reasons! We are a friendly bunch and it would be good to see you there. We welcome partners/support friends, too, and even little children providing you don’t mind them hearing tales of surgery or bowel habits. We have had a busy month, most importantly finding out that my kidney stones are a direct result of my gastric bypass and that in taking extra calcium, I can hopefully prevent more from forming.

Hope to see you on Saturday,

    Ele x

    Hi there Ele.

Once again, thank you SO much for your continued and unwavering support for the wls community. You are amazing. I’m glad to hear that you have found a pretty simple solution to your kidney stone problem. After a bypass, we certainly do get used to taking pills don’t we?!

Here’s to a fantastic group tomorrow. Thank you once again.

    Hello everyone!

It is that time again for a reminder for the next Southampton WLSinfo Support Group Meeting – this Saturday, 12th September, at Postern Court from 10.30am-1pm. Everyone from all weight loss surgery types are welcome, both pre and post op, and support friends/partners too. We also welcome anyone who has had the surgery for other medical reasons and allow young children to come, providing you don’t mind them hearing stories of surgery and bowel habits! I hope you’ve all had a good month and it will be lovely to see you there.

    Hello everyone!

Here is your reminder that the next Southampton WLSinfo Support Group Meeting is this Saturday, !7th October from 10.30am – 1pm at Postern Court. We welcome anyone who has had or is thinking of having bariatric surgery, especially for weight loss, along with their support friend/partners. We even welcome small children as long as you don’t mind them hearing stories of surgery or bowel habits!

I hope you have had a good month. I was supposed to have my kidney stone surgery a month ago, but it was cancelled on the day, so I am rebooked for this Monday, 19th October. I am also looking to stand down as the lead of this group as I am finding it harder as Alex is growing to keep on top of the bits to do outside of the meetings. Any takers from anyone out there who wants to give their knowledge back to new members and support people?

I hope to see you on Saturday,

    Ele x

Thank you, as always, Ele for giving up so much of your free time to the weight loss surgery community. You have been a stalwart of support and i know many people are eternally grateful to you.

I completely understand your decision to step away from the organisational aspect of the group. With a three year old too! I don’t know how you have done it! I hope someone feels they can step into your shoes – even though they are mighty ones to fill.

    With huge respect and thanks

    Hi Everyone,

This is your reminder that the last WLSinfo support group meeting for 2015 is on Saturday 12th December at Postern Court from 10:30am till 12pm. Everyone from all weight loss surgery types is welcome, pre and post op. We also welcome partners/support friends and even little children if you don’t mind them hearing gory surgery stories etc.

At 12 o’clock we are hoping to go somewhere for some food to celebrate Christmas and my last meeting as group leader. We haven’t been able to book anywhere in advance because, as some of you are already aware, I had to go back into hospital for a 9 day stay due to a severe infection related to my kidney stones. I am recovering but my GP says it’ll be another 3-5 weeks before I’m back to normal (whatever that is, heehee).

As far as I’m aware the WLSinfo committee have yet to decide who will take over the group or if it will continue. If you would like to support fellow pre and post oppers and want to put your name forward to run the group please contact Bianca Scollen (bianca.scollen@wlsinfo.org.uk) or the committee (committee@wlsinfo.org.uk). I am very sorry that I’m unable to continue to run the group and really hope that somebody will feel able to give something back to those people who need the support.

There are no dates for next year as yet; obviously I will pass on everyone’s email addresses and hope that you will be contacted soon.

We really hope to see you on Saturday and if not, wish you a very Merry Christmas and healthy and happy New Year!

    Hi Ele

Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you for your support and time over the past several years. Your commitment to the wls community had been fantastic. I’m sure everyone will agree that yours will be very big shoe to fill!

If no one comes forward to run the group, they are more than welcome to come to the South Coast Support Group in Portsmouth. I know there is another group in Southampton but I don’t know the details as the people in it are not on this forum.

We have a new venue and exciting new events coming up in the New Year – details later this week.

But back to you. I would personally like to wish you every success in the future and the very merriest of Christmases EVER. Take care of yourself and your lovely little family.

    With huge thanks

    Doodah x
