Christmas will be cracking now I’m slim | Health | – Home of the Daily and Sunday Express

Sorry but this article really annoyed me. I have also posted it on Facebook on my own wall.

‘Ballooned’ to a size 16. Get a grip. That’s the average size for a normal, healthy woman in the UK. The whole ‘size zero’ debacle really aggravates me. It’s as if your whole self worth is measured by the size of your waist. Grrrr. Sorry to get so bloomin annoyed but when the focus on the size of your bum becomes more important than how healthy you are, I get cross.

I totally agree with you Doodah….health matters so much more than pant size! Thankfully most of us who have undergone wls have much, much better health than we ever had before so why not celebrate that achievement rather than obsess over dress and body size. We were all designed to be different shapes and sizes. Hopefully those considering wls will recognise this and embrace the opportunity this brings. C x

Hear hear Carol. Health first every time.

I was delighted to reach a size 16 and would have stayed that happy had I not lost another ounce or inch. However, as a shortie, I lost more. I’m now a size 12. I have no desire whatsover to either lose any more weight or be a smaller size. I’m healtheir and happier. That was always my ultimate goal and prize.
