    Hi Kerrie.

Don’t panic lol! I have it on VERY good authority that it is completely painless and over in minutes.

You will be asked to drink some barium so they can follow it on the X-ray then you will get the required fill. It’s as simple as that.

If you need to know anything else, just ask ok?

I only had 1.5 and 14 pound weight loss. Though it was slightly painful and a fair few attempts to find the port, I still feel hungry after halving my portion. I am really hoping that I will eventually find that sweet spot, and my weight loss will start again! If all else fails I am going to have to revert back to drinking lots of milk!

Have you noticed a difference now you have had a fill?

I was worried about the pain of the fill but have to say Dr Hewin felt my tummy and straight away found the port not a bother he is brilliant. I had 2.5ml in so think I have 5.5ml in now. I have a large band though. I feel grand the indigestion is back but had that for a while after the op. I am on liquids today so feeling hungry to be honest

It’s such a different journey from the bypass. However, rest assured that we all reach the end of the journey – just at different times. Bypassers are the hares and bandsters are the tortoises. Trust your surgery, do your absolute best and never give up. It WILL happen.
