Hi, I had a gastric bypass 3 years ago and have been healthy and happy since, until about 3 weeks ago. My blood sugar is dropping very low and the hospital thinks it’s to do with dumping syndrome. They want me to eat glucose and sugary foods to bring the levels up and then eat lots of carbs. This seems to go against the bypass advice. Has anyone gone through anything similar?

    Hi Sue

Can I ask you where you had your surgery and with whom? If it’s Streamline, I would suggest contacting your team as this needs careful monitering from professionals.

I’m three and a half years out and hardly ever dump anymore (unless I’ve been caught out in prepared food at a restaurant etc) so there might be something amiss that no-one has thought of so far.

    Please keep us informed.

    Doodah x
