Well it had to happen didn’t it, today had been one of those days, 10 weeks post op and after everything going so well today I can’t eat hardly anything, everything from breakfast through lunch and dinner has left me in pain and un able to eat the whole meal and not even trying to eat more than I normally do, even tonight when I took two tiny pills I had pain, even now lying in bed typing this (how sad am I ) a couple of my incision scars are tender, and they have been fine from week one. just one of those days I hope.

    Hope it’s better tomorrow.

I think we all have days likethat Paul, it’s horrible while it’s happening but I suppose in some way its a reminder of this gift we have been given. I’m sure you will feel better tomorrow

Absolutely Katy. Whenever I get caught out (eating out) and feel wretched, I remind myself that my bypass is doing it’s job and that is what has helped me to shift 15st and save my life. Having had two children with no pain relief, I also have to remind myself that it REALLY could be worse haha!

    Hi all

Just been reading the Streamline book (What a mistake to make) in the section about post op problems it says pain when eating could be a sign of an Ulcer in the joint with with the pouch. Being a wimpy man, we dont do pain, along with the washing and multitasking to name but a few I have gone back on the Lansoprazol just in case. Afterall its Better to be safe than sorry, Right 🙂

    Hey Paul
I had to call the team last week as I have been constantly nauseous since the op. I was worried about ulcers as well! They have put me on anti sickness pills which seem to be working now but Mr Pring said if it doesn’t settle I have to call again. I spoke to the specialist nurse Lisa and she was soooo helpful. If you are worried I’d give them a call…

Thanks Katy, I will give it a couple of days to see if it will settle down and give them a call if it not resolving its self.

I’m still taking the lansoprozol and I’m a year and a half post op. They haven’t told me to stop taking them so I just carry on!

They told me to stop after 8 weeks, which I did, back on them now though.

Give your team a call Paul. It’s what they are there for! They will be more than pleased to help you 😉

It’s was probably nothing in the end as almost as soon as I re started the lanzoprazol the problem went away, which was probably a bit too quick for it to be the lanzoprazol, I will still keep on them for a few more weeks, just in case but I am sure it was just one of those things that trouble us from time to time.

I was just saying to someone today that some days there is no rhyme or reason to how our newly plumbed stomachs work!! Can eat yoghurt one day with no problem, the next dumpsville USA! Que?!
