Milk diet starts today! I’m on my way! Yay! Huge relief but bit scary too. Silly question number 1. Is the salty drink literally a stock cube in a cup of hot water? Doesn’t appeal at all but guess its important to get some salt in the system. I’ve got chicken as beef really doesn’t appeal! Just having a cup of tea & stomach already gurgling! Are the first, middle or last days the hardest?? :0)x

Very lucky indeed! support like that bodes well for your post wls future too Treeza.

The stock cube should ideally be made up into a pint of water and then drunk. I had one at Lunchtime (half a cube in half a pint or so) then again at dinner time. It just felt like a ‘meal’ as it is so savoury. Don’t forget there are many other flavours including lamb, vegetable and even fish!

Hope this helps. Onward and upwards (or downwards in our case lol!) Treeza!! Good luck my lovely 😉

Oh dear I’m feeling really hungry!! Just going to have my oxo when hubby finishing cooking their dinner! Been a bit of an emotional day today!

It’s so hard when food is such a big part of your life! It’s sadly become my greatest comfort. Largely because I find it easier to try put on a brave face rather than let out all my true emotions!

Friends & family reading this may say oh come on you cry all the time & they are right I do cry a lot but what they don’t realise is those tear are usually to release the pressure of the tidal wave that lays behind!!! I am sure that some will understand what I mean.

The positive side making the decision to have WLS & being so sure it’s the right thing to do & to finally accept that “I’m worth it” has been the most liberating thing I’ve ever done.

So bring on the hunger, the tears & the struggle! I know I can do this! Well I think I can!!! No I know I can!

Sorry just had to get that out or I’d burst!

The first couple of days were the hardest for me, but it wasn’t really a hunger thing more of a feeling of being deprived!! Once I’d got my head round this it all was ok I swear. I admit I didn’t like the oxo drink – I held my nose, gulped it down etc etc and in the end, the best way for me was to drink it with a spoon and pretend it was soup. 🙂

Your emotions are going to be all over the place but like you said, think of it as the start of your new you. In less than two weeks time you’ll have had your op and the milk diet will all be over with! Put yourself first, you are worth it… a new slimmer, healthier you. 🙂

I’m only four weeks post op but am happy to give as much support as you need. 🙂

In six weeks I have lost just over two stone and I no longer suffer with sore and swollen ankles, plus my knees no longer hurt when I climb up and down stairs!! So despite all my fears, this has proved to be the best thing I have ever done.

    Hi Treeza
Believe me it will get better and you wont feel hungry. I used to go out to breakfast with my husband and whilst he was feasting I had a pot of peppermint tea and a glass of water – fizzy then but still now. It will all be worth it in the end as I now feel so much better and have loads of energy.

You will be fine my lovely. The first few days of any ‘diet’ is challenging because you feel deprived but just keep your eye on the prize and you will be fine! It’s great that everyone is doing a day with you! You have so much support and love. We all know you will succeed and are here for you every step if the way
    Love Katy xxxx

At work today so will be interesting to see if it makes a difference?! Was up 6 times to do a wee in the night! Last couple I felt very light headed?! Vomited (nothing much to bring up mind) first thing? Not sure if its the bug I’m still fighting or the milk diet?

I’ve got pre op tomorrow so will discuss with them x

Thank you for your words of wisdom & support x
