Hi I am new to this site, I’ve very grateful I have found somewhere I can relate to with the troubles and happiness we have with having a gastric band…
I’m Lorna and I’m 26. I had my gastric band fitted 2 years ago and have to date lost 7 stone 3lbs. I would like some advice on what I need to be eating cos I am fed up of the same foods! I can not eat bread and tomatoes… Please can anyone give me some simple recipes that all my family can enjoy… I am also after your thoughts on skin removal and boob uplift surgery ???

    Thank you

Hi Lornz and welcome to our friendly and supportive forum.

First of all, well done on your weight loss! &st 3lbs is about the size of my little Auntie Maureen! therefore, you have ditched a whole human being in weight terms 😉

Please find the links below to Carol Ball’s fab books crammed full of fab recipe ideas and the marvellous Bariatric Portion Plate (I use mine daily!) There is also a group on Facebook called ‘Bariatric Food Porn’ run by Jill Barlow – literally hundreds of recipes on there. Tell her Sue Smith sent you lol!

Hope you find some new and exciting things for you and your family to eat:

Know the feeling, mine is a teacher lol!

As for plastic surgery/skin removal, I have had a tummy tuck and it was worth every single penny! No more infections or soreness. we work in conjunction with The McIndoe Centre so maybe you would like to take a look at their website. I had mine done down here on the South Coast (Portsmouth) at the Spire, Havant. Mr Nicholas Bennett did it and I’m thrilled with the outcome. Bear in mind that i have lost 15st so it was a huge amount of loose skin!
