    Hi Diane

I gave up smoking 2 weeks before my Band op and continued not to smoke for 4 months afterwards. Sadly, I found that too much denial all at the same time (food and smoking) wasn’t all that good for my state of mind and I have started smoking again 🙁

Still it’s not all doom and gloom, I gave up for long enough for it to make a big difference to my healing and more importantly, I have lost 62lbs and I know I CAN do it, so when the band eating regime is second nature I’ll give it another go 🙂

Good luck with it, it does get easier – I used the invisi patches which worked really well, I just struggled when I stopped using them…

And best of luck for your op, you’ll soon be on the losing side 🙂

    Take care
