    SOME NEWS

Got a letter in the post today from my normal GP’s secretary
to say that they got a letter from Mr Somers and that they have referred me to the weight centre at the local
    hospital ๐Ÿ™‚

At last I have been referred ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ its only taken 10 months !!

will now have to wait for an appointment letter to come from the hospital
which I expect will probably be a week or so before I hear anything

But at long last I have moved another step forward

I still might go and see another GP as the letter says that loosing weight will sort out the sleep problems
rather than say they have referred me to the sleep centre, So will say I need referring to the sleep centre as well

my other half has recently been diagnosed with sleep apnoea and has a machine, only got it yesterday
might give it a go myself and see if it makes any difference

    age

It is the first step of many hopefully Age. It really can be a long drawn out process but it is so worth hanging in there.

Why not try the sleep apnoea/pap machine? You have nothing to loose as I don’t believe it can harm you. Please check first though as I am not a clinician!

Great news. A step closer ๐Ÿ™‚

well, still not heard anything from the hospital so will go and see the GP secretary and see if
she can find out anything. I think I should have heard a long time ago as my other half saw
a locum GP on the 24th Feb and today got a letter to book an appointment at the hospital
so something has gone wrong with mine ๐Ÿ™

so will go down to the health centre and see what I can find out

    always something !

I think your proposed course of action is a good one. It sometimes feels like that doesn’t it? That no matter what you do, it never goes smoothly first time! I think many of us can relate to that. Please let us know how you get on.

Sometimes doctors are so busy that in their head they done the letter , but they haven’t if you get what I mean . I don’t think it’s deliberate it’s just that they are so busy , so it’s worth in a nice way just checking that they sent the letter , and then phoning the surgion team to find out if they recieved it .

spoke to the secretary and she said the hospital has returned the request to them as the way they take referrals has changed, and so need to be referred a different way. she said that my GP is back on Wednesday (earlier than expected) and she will get him to refer again.

so looks like my referral got sent at the time of the changeover and so got rejected ๐Ÿ™

    will get there eventually

If anyone knows about being disappointed but still hanging on in there it’s our Kim. I was knocked back twice too so please, just keep trying. Even when it feels like you are banging your head against a brick wall. You will eventually make a dent, then a hole through which you can break free.

Life – not at all easy is it? But truly wonderful to have.

sorry for delay, been a bit under the weather with bad flu
I don’t mind the flu but also had a bad case of conjuntivitus at the same time
was so bad I was sent up to a&e by the doctor, and the eye specialist said it
was the worse case he had ever seen ! my eye ball looked like it had been burnt
anyway nearly cleared up now and can see properly again ๐Ÿ™‚

got a letter from the referral team today, you then have to phone up to make an appointment
which I did and they said that it has been sent back to the GP again as being refused, which is what
    they said happened last time.

I phoned the secretary who is on lunch, but someone else said that she is trying to find out why it was rejected again
as she followed all the criteria that they said they wanted to see details of.

hopefully will find something out later today/ in the morning

why they cant tell the Gp why its rejected I don’t know , it would make it so much easier

head and brick wall time again !
