Hi all, newly banded and although the first few days were rough (possibly due to unknown hiatus hernia which was repaired). Much better now but still occasionally in pain, usually at either end of the day, under my left rib. It feels quite solid sometimes and I wondered if it was likely to be gas still at this stage or something else.

Despite having lost a stone since the milk diet my waist size is the same and my trousers even tight on the waist at times since my stomach is still swollen, especially at night….is this a familiar story to other bandsters?

    Hi Day Dream

Glad eveything went well. Trapped gas is a bit of a nuisance post surgery and is often the cause of the swelling. If it becomes troublesome, give your team a call for some reassurance: it’s what they are there for. I’m a bypasser but I’m sure a lovely bandster will be along with a much better idea of what to ask.

    Doodah x
