He graduated from Cambridge University and as well as working in the UK, he has worked across the world, including Australia, Japan and the USA.

He has been a NHS consultant surgeon for over 13 years. Importantly, his private practice mirrors his NHS practice and he will only treat patients within his specialist fields.

He is one of the most experienced bariatric surgeons in the UK (see https://nbsr.e-dendrite.com) and he performs over 450 laparoscopic procedures each year.

He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, actively involved in surgical research. He is a recognised national trainer for laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He is a member of the Patient Safety Committee for the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society.

Chris is often invited to present and lecture to other healthcare professionals on aspects of laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He is frequently invited to appear, or pass comment, as the ’expert’ on a number of TV shows across the BBC, and cable networks, as well as on the radio and in the national and regional newspapers.
