Hi Jabbajabba well done on your weight loss and I think you are so right to stop losing and be happy. I think there is so much pressure on all of us to be a perfect BMI. Your post has helped me think about my own situation. I have lost around 9 stone and gone from a size 28 to a size 16 but I am struggling to loose any more. I’m struggling with myself because I feel I should conform and loose more weight to lower my BMI but part of me is happy because I’m size 16 which I haven’t been since I was 15 (which was a long time ago!). I think the real goal after WLS is to maintain the weight loss. Not sure about the gidelines for plastic surgery but I wish you luck if you decide to go ahead.

Size 16 is a perfectly normal size! I only wanted to get to an 18 from a 34 and thought it was an impossible task. I absolutely believe that maintaining a reasonable weight for our age and remaining healthy is the only goal on which we should focus. I had my excess skin removed for health reasons. I had the funds in place for my arms and boobs too but changed my mind as I realised that ‘perfection’ isn’t possible and it would drive me nuts trying to achieve it. some would say it is too late – I’m already nuts haha!
