I too don’t have much idea of how HNS waiting lists work these days regarding wls.

I really don’t think it will be necessary for your partner will need to take off two weeks. Most people are fully mobile (if slowly) after a few days. I had an open bypass (10cm scar) with my gall bladder removed at the same time and I was perfectly ok after three days. I had pre planned and frozen my meals but had to wait a wee bit longer to be able to drive as I’s had two for one surgery wise lol!

As for the party, you know what? Delegate. You will be amazed at how much people will want to help you! they will do it with a willing heart and be pleased to help. I think you will be able to attend both. Okay, you might not be able to dance the night away but you could sit and sip tea and soak up the atmosphere.

I hope some of our lovely NHS people on here will be able to help you regarding surgery dates protocol. It will put your mind at rest: not knowing is the worst thing ever isn’t it?

Please let us know how you are getting on and try to remain positive. That is half the battle.
