Hi Gill

What hospital are you under, they are all different in how they implement the rules, plus they keep moving the goal posts so advice that was accurate 2 or 3 years ago might no longer be the case.

I know when I had my Bypass at St Richards the waiting list was around 12 weeks but that was nearly 3 years ago now and with more and more patients being referred the lists can only get longer.

Mind you in my case St Richards was my second referral as the first one to a Surgeon at one of the London Hospitals had a 2 year waiting list, I dread to think what its like now for his patients.

As for how long your husband needs off after surgery I bet if all goes well, as most do he will only need a couple of days off, the healing process is actually very quick these days with keyhole surgery.

all the best for your surgery when you do get your date.

Paul
