Hi Gemma, and congratulations on being about to have a bypass, I hope all goes well for you and you recover quickly. If you are actually going for your pre-op check at the hospital, you would know when your op was, in some areas it is carried out 2 weeks prior to the op date to allow time for blood screening and MRSA results to come back, but for me in a private hospital it was only a couple of days before my op, so I am a bit confused by what ‘pre-op’ appt. you mean? Perhaps you are just going for an initial consultation? Or, if what you are asking is how long do people wait for a surgery date, it depends on where it is done, and the surgeon’s availability.
