I suffered bad constipation post op and the nurse told me to have 10ml lactulose in some warm water and by the evening, I was cured and not suffered since. I put it down to the volterol, co-codamol and anything else they put in me, along with lack of fluids cos you just can’t drink enough to start with. It’s a wonder cure believe me but sip it slowly and over time and it WILL sort you out. I find having a weetabix a day also seems to make the bowels work well. I was having that from about week 2 but very very runny and I was fine with it.
