I don’t use whey protein as I have never felt the need to. I eat quorn in it’s many forms and also low fat cheeses, pulses and nuts. they all contain loads of protein as do eggs and dairy. Funnily enough, my iron levels have never been better! I eat loads of fruit and veg, especially the dark, leafy green type. I also eat lots of salad with watercress, rocket and spinach in it.

If you would like to try whey protein, I should ask your team about it first. I’m not a clinician so I can’t tell you whether or not it is advisable to try it. One thing I have done though, is put an extra spoonful of dried milk powder in my food, especially pasta dishes. It is high in protein but low in fat (saturated) and sodium. Very high in calcium too which a woman of my age needs! I also sprinkle seeds (tasted and raw) on everything. They are quite calorific but they are a great source of protein too. Again, it’s only what I do so check with your team first.
