I’m doing my first ever long haul flight in August – 11 hours, what a baptism of fire haha!

I’ve not been able or allowed to one before due to size and illness so I can’t tell you how excited I am. I know both the seat belt and the lap tray will be ok and I will even fit in the loo when I need to go. Before wls, I couldn’t do long haul due to loads of things but the two worst ones were – being a ‘hazard’ to other passengers in an emergency and not fitting into the loo. Can you imagine the humiliation of being told that by the airline?

Anyway, none of that this time. I have booked my veggie meal, chosen my seat (window of course) and am looking forward to this long haul holiday being the first of many. You will all eventually know the magical feeling of slipping on the seatbelt and dropping down the tray but will you be able to resist an air punch in sheer jubilation?! Other people take these things for granted on a daily basis but for us, it is a hugely significant thing.

Lets all high five each other!!!
