Just thought I would let you know what I found out last night. I was well initially after my op, eating ok, and after a while, constantly nauseous. I had been ocassionally having juice, diluted in water, as it is listed on my allowed foods sheet, and helps process iron.
What I didn’t know was; we are not to have pineapple juice as it irritates the new joins and inflames them. The surgeon says they sometimes recommend having it a year down the line to help dissolve stuck meat, but at this stage, it is totally the wrong thing to have.
So, that explains why I have had pain with every bit of fluid or food, and I now have anti acids twice daily and must stay on sloppies (which I hadn’t managed to come off anyway)!
Thought it was important to let people know, in case anyone else happens to not be a juice fan, but like pineapple!
Crikey!! I’d not heard that either.
I really hope this makes a difference for you and you start to feel better and can up your intake of food and fluid now.
Take care and hope to see you soon
