Hi bikerchris & welcome. I think it depends on what job you do & how well you recover as to when you should go bank to work. I had 6 weeks off but I struggled the first few weeks with lank of energy & being a nurse in A&E it would have been tough going back. Work were really good thankfully. As for telling people I think it’s up to the individual. I told everyone who was prepared to listen because I knew I’d need all their support pre & post op. I know people who didn’t tell anyone. If you’d rather not tell people then just say you had to have abdominal surgery & can only eat small amounts of food. I wish you all the very best. Please keep us updated with your progress.
