My school was typically early 1960. We were served lambs hearts, liver and steak and kidney. Can you imagine giving that to kids these days?! The best thing ever at school was baked apple (with dark brown sugar in it) and custard. No wonder I got fat and lost so many teeth!!!

I hated tapioca, sago and macaroni milk puddings but loved rice and semolina, we actually had lovely dinners at school and always a choice of normal or milk pudding and at Christmas Cook used to put sixpences in the Christmas pudding but we had to give them back if we got one :O(
