Hi all
I was wondering if any of you have any thoughts on doing a couple of small trial runs of the milk diet?
I have a few reasons for this, but mainly, I wanted to see how I go emotionally, and what the danger points might be. I was therefore thinking about doing it two or three days every week or two. What are people’s thoughts on this?
I was a bit tempted to alter it slightly, and have soup in the evening, just to start with. I would welcome all thoughts please!

So long as you check it with your team and they give you the go ahead, I think it is an excellent idea! So much so, that I wish I had thought of it when I was waiting for my surgery date.

The pre op diet can also be used as a ‘back to basics’ tactic for the future. If you feel your habits are slipping back a bit. It’s then called the ‘pouch test’ and can possibly give better restriction again, in addition to re setting your mind, so to speak. This is to be checked with your team first too, of course

So, I would give it a resounding YES. But never do anything until you have checked it with your team. I’m not a clinician and am not permitted to give clinical advice but I can advise you to check with your team (or GP) first.

My main suggestion is – don’t alter it in any way if you are going to try it. You need to know exactly what you will be dealing with if you are going to do it.

Hope this reply is helpful Vickster. I know all the other fab people on this forum will also give you ideas. We are so lucky to have each other to turn to. This place has been a life line for me for over 6 years. 🙂
