I walked to a friend’s place and back but that’s it. It was downhill on the way there and uphill on the way back. Only 5 mins each way but it was enough.

With regards to work, we’ve agreed a staggered return. I’ll be starting on 4 hrs per day and building from there. That means I’ll have the mornings for either revision for the final exam or gym/being active. What I don’t do in the morning, I’ll be able to do in the evening.

Studying = foundation stone for ditching the job and embarking on self-employment. So far I am qualified to do reflexology but need to refresh the skills and knowledge (qualified 2 years ago). Will be bringing other things in too … options are remaining open because targets may change as the weight falls off and confidence builds.

First active goal = race for life 2013. This time I WON’T be walking it! 🙂

If you are able to stagger your return to work then it’s the best way to do it. Most employers are very considerate as they would rather you stagger your return than come back too soon then end up needing loads more time off than was originally scheduled. It makes perfect sense really.

You have planned your recovery down to the last detial, however, don’t be disheartened if you hit any bumps in the road – no recovery is text book!!
