Hello -sorry to hijack your post. I had my band fitted at Chichester yesterday morning and all went very well, the nursing team were amazing. had a bit of an uncomfortable night, have now got the pain management in control but haven’t managed to get much down, just taking on water as not hungry at all. feeling drained but I know its very early days and looking forward to it all settling down. has anyone else had issues with not being able to get much down? just putting this down to initial swelling post op.
Thanks

Kookla

Hi well done you must be feeling relived excited and very tired. Hope you have some relief from the pain ( walking helps and knee bends plus getting on all four with bottom higher than your head , it shifts the wind ) I think it’s normal to keep to water or clear fluids for a day . I then went on to tea ( heaven ) . Different surgeons have how they want you to progress on the stages so go by what your team suggest . Also you must rest you had major surgery and an anesthetic , it does leave you drained . So rest , nap , and keep sipping fluids . And don’t forget a pillow for your tummy on the drive home . X
