Still when you get your bloods do get your thyroid counts too (several tests they can do). With you losing weight so slowly and putting on so easily I’m shocked your GP hasn’t tested it in so long! When my thyroid died twenty years ago I would’ve put on weight on 800 calories a day. It would be good news really for you. Just a thought.
