Hi there,

I applied for funding through my GP and have received a letter back saying funding agreed based on BMI and hypertension. My blood pressure has been up. However, went on a 24 hour BP monitor a couple of days ago and it did not show high BP (typical). GP has referred me to Birmingham but when i get there will they turn me down for Op based on this?

Hi Jane and welcome.

I’m not a clinician but I doubt very much whether one ‘good’ day’s hypotension will go against you. The hospital will have access to your records which will show that you have a chronic problem. So, I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you.

If you are still bothered about it, phone your GP and ask what they think. Hope this helps.
