Hi Laura, I also had my bypass at Clementine Churchill. The hospital is lovely and the staff great. 🙂

I was 9 stone overweight and had yo yo dieted for years, often giving up after staying the same weight or gaining despite sticking with each diet I tried. I hated being so overweight; my knees hurt climbing stairs, I had swollen ankles, I was always out of puff, my back ached, I hated socialising and became quite reclusive etc etc etc.

A friend of mine had the gastric bypass last year and I was amazed at the change in her. I gave it a lot if thought and decided to make enquiries. Well, I had my op back in June and have lost almost 5 stone… and I am getting my life back! I have no regrets but will admit I found the first few weeks hard as I don’t like soup and hated the puréed diet, lol.

My advise is to make a list of pros and cons for having the op. Seeing it on paper put things into perspective for me when I was having doubts.
