I rang the office on Friday and apparently my forms have gone to the psychologist and dietician to see if they need to see me before I go on the list. Can anyone tell me what does this mean? Can they say I can’t have the operation after the surgeon has said yes? What does the psychological assessment entail. I am worried that I was so honest about the difficulties that led me to eat that that might mean I won’t have the operation! It has taken 6 years of intensive therapy and 6 therapists to get me this far and I am anxious about it. Can anyone tell me about their experience of this part of the process? Can I appeal if they say I can’t have it? How long is it before you hear whether they need to see you or not?
