Hi Pink Lady,
There is no doubt that you will worry, you wouldnt be normal if you didn’t. However, you will ask yourself afterwards what you were worried about!
On the day of surgery, you go to the hospital and if it is St Richards you will make your way up to the ward in the Chichester Suite where you will be met by the lovely Andrea who will look after you. Once you are settled in and it gets to your turn you will walk to the operating theatre with 5 pillows which you will need to help prop you up after the up. About 5 hours after your op you will get up and sit in a chair for a while then you get back into bed and sleep till the morning. In the morning you will get up, have a wash and get your own PJ’s on and have a wander around. Chat to your fellow room mates and have a generally nice time resting and chatting. There are a few other monor things that happen but that is pretty much it.
If I had to do it again I would gladly do it and not worry at all.
Take care
Lorraine
