I’ve been away from the forums for a while now. Some might remember me from eons ago!
I had my rny bypass in February 2010. I lost about 8 stone……..but I’ve put about 5 back on , I can eat pretty much anything, rarely dump any more, and can eat huge quantities. Fizzy drinks aren’t a problem either. So I have probably sabotaged my surgery. 🙁
I’m in a reasonable amount of pain due to osteoarthritis among other things.
Where do I start ……my depression is back with a vengeance and often can’t be bothered.
Help? Please :'( xx

Oh my darling, I’m so sorry to hear you are feeling so low and in so much pain. It honestly hurts me to think about it.

Firstly, a trip to your GP to get your depression addressed. I should imagine that every single one of us has had it at some point and know that it is the horrible sticky glue that binds all the negativity together in one great big lump. I need s to be broken up into manageable pieces and that can only really be done with proper clinical intervention. But you probably already know that.

Please see your GP and let him or her know how bad things have become. I truly believe that our heads have to be sorted before our bodies.

Secondly, please believe that you are not alone. We are all here for you, willing you on and totally on your side. Nothing you say or do will make us abandon you. You are NOT a failure. You are a struggler. That’s all. You are struggling. This is when you need to reach out and ask for help from every available source you have. Starting with your GP.

You may need psychological help/counselling. If that’s the case, then take ask for it and insist that you get it. Do not use your weight gain as a metaphorical stick with which to beat yourself. Be KIND to yourself, now more than ever!

I wish I could make you see how brave you have been for coming on here and being honest. My life you have guts. This proves that you are brave and strong enough to have another crack at it. If you had given up entirely, I wouldn’t be answering this post would I? You will be an inspiration to anyone else who is struggling and for that you should be SO proud.

Please, please let me know how things go. Even if you want to private message me. I’m always here for you guys.

I’m so proud of you xxx
