Doodah, it was probably me that caused the offense and I did try to say that I was not having a dig or go at anyone. My bug is with the manufacturers when it boils down to it. There are a huge number of people out there who don’t have a scooby as to what they should and shouldn’t be eating and it really doesn’t help when compnies ply us all with wonderful foods that are laiden with god knows what and the government sit back and do jack about it. Not everyone has the will to find out what they are eating or to even count calories and so in my view, if these people really want to help us then they should take stock of what they are producing. It gets me when they bring out a product that is say, lower in salt – why couldn’t they have made the original low in salt? the same goes for fat and sugar. The problem is, people have grown up with a lot of these foods and when the ingredients have been altered, they reject them as they don’t taste identical. It is a rod the producers have made unwittingly and to reverse it is a very hard step. The so called fat tax should be put onto them, not the often innocent consumer.
