Hi Clive

I’m so glad you have made the decision you feel will be the best for YOU. It’s the first step in being kind to yourself and putting yourself first for once.

Having a bypass will mean that, if you don’t know exactly what you are eating, you may experience dumping syndrome. It’s absolutely awful so my advice is to become really familiar with the carb and fat parts on nutrition labels on food packaging. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for things to be changed when you are eating out. Things like asking for the dressing to be left off or bread to be removed etc. Unfortunately, most child sized portions consist of things like chicken nuggets, chips and tinned peas so asking for thing on the adult menu is a good alternative.

Hope that is helpful. I’m sure all the other lovely bypassers will have more tips for you. We all share our tips so keep your eyes peeled – I know I do!!

Not long to go now 🙂
