I have been reading labels keenly since my son was born (almost 25 years ago) with multiple allergies. Have to say it has been made clearer over the years but they still try to bamboozle us with claims that are simply untrue or misleading.

A fat free yoghurt is made edible by packing it with artificail sweeteners – some of which are banned in the USA, Europe and Canada. The best foods (and drinks) to eat/drink are the ones that don’t need labels: fruit, veg, salad, water. That would be great in an ideal world where they were readily available, cheap and quick to prepare.

Worldwide, not everyone has access to fresh water let alone food, so reading the label is a totally moot point.

Anyway, that’s another debate and one that I get carried away with so I will stop now!!
