Mands and Natalie, that would be a great idea! It’s always easier to work with someone else I think. I had three people I worked very closely with in the early stages and it helped me enormously.

As for putting on weight, it has been bitterly cold these past few weeks and I suspect you have been driven to eat a bit more by that. The secret really is to just keep going and to make the right food choices every day. If you have a day where you don’t make good choices, learn from it, forgive yourself and move on. I think writing everything down is a good way to identify problem times in the day where you can be tempted to eat out of boredom or habit (don’t judge yourself for this – everyone does it) so that you can pre-warn yourself and find something else to do.

Having a friend alongside you in this hard journey makes it easier, of that much I am sure. Just keep going. As the old saying goes: ‘Never give up; never surrender’!!
