Hi Gang

sorry not been on for a very long time
mixture of illness and feeling so low

anyway, updates at last !

Had to do the weight watchers (tier 2) programme before they would let me go onto tier 3
This was for 12 weeks, after that I said I wanted to be sent to tier 3
and this is where I came against more delays 🙁

no one seemed to know what the procedure was !
I was told by the people who do the tier 2 that they had to wait for weight watchers to send
them details of how I got on before they would refer to tier 3
after waiting and chasing for a long time, they then said that I had to contact my GP
to get him to refer to tier 3, so that was a waste of 6 weeks.

instead of taking up an appointment I wrote a letter to the GP
after about 4 weeks I had not heard anything so I called the secretary
they said that their 2 people still had not sent the info from weight watchers
and she would chase up. she did this and seemed that weight watchers were slow
in sending the info and then the tier 2 people misfiled the paperwork.

eventually the GP got the paperwork and started the referral to tier 3
I then had to have a few blood tests done to be sent with the referral

Then at long last I had an appointment with tier 3 🙂

I have so far seen the Doctor at tier 3, who said I have to be on their program to 6 months
and then if I have lost 5-10% I can either do another 6 months or go for surgery

he does agree that I can go for surgery as although I have a history of loosing weight it always comes back
I asked how long this would then take for surgery and he said 4-6 months

looks like my journey will be another year at least
though I do feel that 2 years has been wasted by all the problems in getting the referral

have got to see the diet nurse on Friday and will report back then
