Super duper advice from Chris yet again.

I use portion control every day via Carol Ball’s bariatric portion plate. Having said that, it is never filled! Especially the protein bit – I simply cannot eat that much in one go. I never was a ‘volume’ eater – simply one who made horrendous choices. I was addicted to sugar. Sugar was my drug of choice. Having the bypass now makes that at the very least uncomfortable, and at most, such an utterly vile feeling (dumping) that it keeps me in check.

For my own part, I think I will always struggle with resisting sugar. However, I will try every day for the rest of my life – one I would not be living had I not had my bypass.

So, as for getting things ‘wrong’ Danny, just keep doing what works for you. Make healthy choices, drink enough water and, as soon as you are able, move about a bit more to build up some muscle. I learned to swim – fantastic exercise, especially for someone with a chronic lung condition. We all weigh about 10lbs in the water!!

Right, I am rambling now! If ever you are really worried, phone your team. They will be happy to answer any questions about anything. We are all here to listen, support and help you in any way we can.
