Our Head Dietician, Nicole Berberian can regularly be seen offering dietetic and nutritional advice on Sky News. Other recent TV work incudes bariatric surgeon, Guy Slater on ‘How to Lose Weight Well,’ where he talked about the Elipse gastric balloon and its benefits. While our South Coast based Surgeon, Nick Carter appeared on the popular Channel 4 programme, ‘Shut-Ins.’ The programme explored the impact obesity is having on peoples’ lives.
Many of our surgeons host lectures to professional bodies and to the public on a range of issues within the bariatric field across the world. Last month, Shaw Somers was invited to be a keynote speaker at Arab Health 2019 in Dubai, to talk about the ‘perfect’ weight loss surgery. The event is Middle East’s largest healthcare conference and attended by over 130,000 people.
Shaw co-chaired a full day of presentations on weight loss surgery, covering clinical topics and techniques in bariatric surgery to an audience of other world experts from the US and Middle East. The day’s proceedings culminated with an interactive session from Shaw on the ‘perfect gastric bypass’, where he gave live commentary to a video feed from one of his Streamline Surgical operations to showcase best in class techniques and demonstrated how to achieve outstanding patient weight loss outcomes.
The event was hosted as part of the official UK delegation to the conference, supported by BMI Healthcare who own the Clementine Churchill hospital in Harrow, London, where Streamline’s main clinic is based.
