I
have heard that many relationships break down after a person
has surgery, is this true?
Research
does suggest that many people re-evaluate their life
once they lose significant amounts of weight. As part
of this there does appear to be a high incidence of relationship
breakdowns. This is often because if you have always
battled with your weight and developed a lack of confidence
due to this, then you might have allowed yourself to
stay in a relationship in which you are not happy but
have felt unable to change. We tend to find that as people
finally win their weight battle then they become more
assertive and confident and this often means that they
choose to end difficult and unhappy relationships.
