What
happens a few years after surgery, how will I feel?
People generally feel initially happy after surgery, however, research does suggest that if patients have a history of depression and low self esteem, then they can in longer term experience reoccurrence of these. Having surgery and seeing continuous weight loss can be a wonderful feeling, however, once the initial excitement wears off then old feelings can resurface. Just because you have become thinner does not always mean that you will be happier within the rest of your life.
