Question 10:

I have had my operation but I feel so thirsty all the time

After your gastric bypass operation it is understandable if you feel very thirsty, especially if it is summer. You are not able to gulp large amounts of fluid any more and therefore we need you to sip your drinks and take it really slowly. Gulping fluids will cause the fluid to often come back up into your mouth, so take a sports bottle, one with a little cap, filled with water or some sugar free cordial and sip throughout the day, keeping it topped up you can make sure you are getting enough. We like you to drink about two litres a day.
