Loser Leigh’s only half woman she
used to be
 A SURGEON has helped a Waltham Cross woman lose almost half her weight by giving her a gastric bypass. Shaw Somers, of West Sussex based Streamline Surgical, carried out the operation on Leigh Taylor, 46, last year. The surgery allowed Leigh, of Felstead Road, to shrink from 20 stone (126kg) to 11 stone (70kg), and led a bus driver and finding love again.
Years of failed diets had made Leigh so miserable that she would comfort eat every day. But she used cash from the sale of property after her divorce three years ago to fund the gastric surgery. Leigh said: “My divorce gave me what I wanted most – my gastric bypass surgery, which has led me to lose 9 stone (57kg) and become a happy weight. “I had wanted the surgery for years and it’s been the best thing I have ever spent money on. It was worth every penny.”
