After
Bariatric Surgery Dietitians
Our dietitians provide an invaluable service
for our patients. Bariatric surgery should not be viewed
as a miracle cure where no effort is needed by the patient
themselves. Surgery is the helping hand to guide you on your
way to a new, healthier you and the dieticians are there
to help you to re-learn new eating patterns, advise you on
what you should be eating and help with any eating issues
you may be having after your surgery.

Jilla King – Portsmouth Hospital
Paula Flannery - Portsmouth Hospital
Deepti DeAraujo - Chichester
As a dietetic team, our dietitians
have been involved in bariatric surgery since 1998. They
are also all part of the mental health dietetic service
in Portsmouth and West Sussex. They each hold caseloads
of clients with eating disorders and have extensive experience
in managing such patients. The team liaises with the patients’ local dietetic
service and will offer advice to the patient’s own
dietitians. All dietitians regularly undertake CPD in obesity
surgery management.
