 Recent Channel 4 series The Food Hospital featured Streamline Surgical's very own Mr Shaw Somers who co-hosted the series alongside a GP and dietitian. The new series featured Shaw and his two co-hosts Lucy Jones, Senior Specialist Dietician at the Whittington Hospital and GP Dr Giovanni Miletto as they attempted to examine the science behind using food as medicine. The first episode aired at 8pm on 1st November 2011.
 In experiments conducted with strict scientific rigor, patients suffering from a range of medical conditions and symptoms were invited throughout the series to attend The Food Hospital where they were prescribed specific diets to find out if their health problems could be alleviated or cured by the food they eat.
At the Food Hospital, patients had detailed consultations with the specialist Food Hospital team of experts before they were assigned particular foods, with advice about how to integrate them into their diets. The series followed the patients as they undertook their new dietary regime and attended follow-up appointments at the hospital where their progress was monitored.
The series was supported by an online campaign which asked the nation to take part in the series and an exclusive recipe and advice book co-authored by Shaw, Lucy and Gio is also available.
