Episode 1 - Jean
Marie & Anna
Pita
The first episode of series 3 saw two ladies, Jean Marie
Taylor and Ana Pita, undergo weight loss surgery with the
Fat Doctors.

Jean-Marie is 38 years old, weighs 38 stone and has a BMI
of 84. After years of battling with her weight and
trying numerous other diets, Jean-Marie realised that weight
loss surgery was the only option that would work for her. In
October 2008 she had a Gastric Bypass with Guy Slater. Since
her surgery, which was a huge success she has lost a fantastic
10 stone and every month is losing more and more weight.
Ana Pita
 36 year old Ana appeared in series 1 of the Fat Doctor and
at the time weighed over 30 stone. Fat Doctor Shaw
Somers made the decision at a pre operative consultation
that the surgery couldn’t go ahead as he didn’t
think she would survive the surgery. Luckily for Ana,
this time round she was suitable for surgery and Mr. Somers
operated on her in January 2008. Since the surgery
she has lost almost 18 stone and has a new lease of life. After
years of being confined to a wheelchair and a prisoner in
her own home, Ana and her husband can finally live the life
they always wanted to.
Episode 2 – Sharon, Pauline and Georgina Johnson
Episode 2 was all about girl power and three sisters who
decided that they wanted to change their lives for the better.

Like many sisters, the Johnson sisters loved doing everything
together. After years of battling their weight and
each of them reaching around 23stone, they decided that the
time had come to make a change. After meeting with
Fat Doctor Shaw Somers and being given the go-ahead for surgery,
the sisters knew that their lives were going to change forever. Fat
Doctor Shaw Somers operated on all three sisters on the same
day, and since they have all seen a dramatic weight loss – at
least 8 stone each - and a change in their lives for the
better.

Episode 3 – David and Stephen
Perrett
Episode is another family affair for the Fat Doctor as father
and son David and Stephen both undergo surgery to battle
the bulge.
David and Stephen Perrett
 Father and son, David and Stephen Perrett, have both battled
with their weight for most of their lives. After
David’s weight began to spiral out of control he decided
he needed to make a change and so met with Fat Doctor Shaw
Somers who suggested that a gastric band would be the best
surgery for him. Since having the surgery David has
lost an incredible 8 stone. After seeing his Dad see
such a successful weight loss, Stephen decided that he also
wanted to be considered for the surgery. Fat Doctor
Shaw Somers performed a Gastric Bypass in August 2008 and
like his Dad has now lost over 8 stone. The father
and son can now enjoy life to the full and look forward to
their continuing weight loss journey.
